Abstract:   (12 Views)
Background: In the education system, a university professor is not simply a transmitter of knowledge, but also plays a fundamental role in shaping the scientific, moral and cultural identity of students. In the intellectual system of Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, a university professor is considered a trustee of humanity and an educational model for the young generation, and his possession of moral and spiritual virtues is considered a condition for being effective in the field of education.
Methods: This is a review study. Data were collected through library study and examination of statements, works, messages, and writings related to Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei’s views on science, university, professor, and moral education. The information was extracted, coded, categorized, and organized into main axes using qualitative content analysis.
Results: The research findings showed that in the intellectual system under study, the moral and personality characteristics of university professors can be explained in three main axes: personality and moral components of professors, obstacles to moral growth and education, and effective methods of moral and spiritual education. These components include faith, self-refining, responsibility, being a role model, beneficial knowledge, and adherence to religious and revolutionary identity.
Conclusion: The results of the study indicate that a university professor can only play an effective educational role when he or she has moral and spiritual competence. In this system of thought, a competent professor is someone who, in addition to specialized knowledge, possesses a spirit of guidance, responsibility, and role modeling for students.
