Background and objective:
It can be argued that due to insufficiencies which are naturally heir to experimental sciences, all contemporary advancements in different health-related fields such as medicine, psychology, and social sciences have generally failed to address all complex and intricate needs of humanbeings in a multifaceted manner. Therefore, development of a comprehensive document encompassing all human needs in different aspects demands consideration of all health criteria, including spiritual health indicators.
Methods:
The current study can be considered a fundamental research which has been carried out by means of descriptive-analytical methods through review of the existing body of literature as well as religious scriptures and texts. Moreover, an interview with experts and experienced scholars in the field was carried out using Delphi method and potential indicators were extracted. The primary objective of this research is development of a comprehensive health system document from an Islamic perspective and teachings of Quran and Hadith which also includesspiritual surveilance indicators.
Results:
Findings of the current study demonstrate that besides recommendations and prescriptions, divine words and religious verses alsouse deterrent strategies and indicators.
Conclusions:
It can be concluded that besides depicting the present situation of spiritual health, the indicators and criteria defined by religious and divine scriptures can propose conceptual and strategic guidelines in three dimensions of formation, preservation, and promotion of spiritual health of the society. |
