Background: Aging is a sensitive period accompanied by extensive physiological and psychological changes that affect the multidimensional health of individuals. Designing effective support models for this period requires a comprehensive and indigenous understanding of the influential factors. The aim of this study was to conceptually analyze, synthesize, and reconfigure previous research in order to design an indigenous conceptual model to explain the dimensions affecting the health of the elderly in Iran. Methods: This qualitative study was conducted using the meta-synthesis method in seven systematic steps (including search, screening, extraction, coding, abstraction of concepts, establishing relationships, and model design). The qualitative data consisted of the texts of 17 selected articles from domestic databases (2011-2022), which were analyzed through an analytical process. The reliability of the coding process was confirmed by expert participation and calculation of the Kappa coefficient (0.89). Findings: Through in-depth analysis and synthesis of the qualitative findings of the studies, 39 primary concepts were extracted and ultimately organized into six interconnected main categories: individual, social, economic, cultural, supportive, and contextual factors. The final outcome of this analytical process was the design of an integrated conceptual model that maps these dimensions and their relationships within the framework of the health of Iranian elderly. Conclusion: Moving beyond simple summarization, this study produced a novel analytical framework and demonstrated that the health of the elderly in Iran is a multidimensional phenomenon influenced by the complex interaction of these six factors. The proposed conceptual model can serve as an indigenous roadmap for planning, intervention, and future research in the field of elderly health.
