Background: Article 14 of the general health Policy Document emphasises leadership in science and technology in the field of biomedicine and health. To be a leader, one indicator is number of published papers in scientific journals. The purpose of this study was to compare the number of published papers in the field of biomedicine and health from the best universities in the world according to ranking of CWTS Leiden.
Methods: In this study a variety of library, documentary, qualitative and descriptive methods were assessed in different stages.
Results: Biomedical and health are among the most important topics in science and technology. Results of this study showed the increased quantity of published papers in the best universities in the world, including Asia, as well as IR Iran.
Conclusion: According to the data presented in this paper, universities of medical sciences in IR Iran should be able to increase the rate of publishing papers. The main obstacle in this regard is governance and management of research in biomedicine and health sectors. |
