Family physician programs and referral systems are clues to strengthening a community-based healthcare network centered on people's needs. As the World Health Organization suggests, this approach, focused on identifying and addressing health issues through preventive interventions and integrated programs, is the most effective way to promote health equity and manage costs. This statement outlines the principles and requirements, strategies, and actions for expanding the neighborhood-based family physician approach. |
