Background: Parkinson's disease (PD) is a chronic and progressive neurological disease with physical and psychological effects on the life of affected individuals and their families. PD is becoming a growing health challenge that requires preventive efforts and serious actions. This chronic disease requires continuous care and support by a multidisciplinary team to benefit from several types of expertise to fill the care gap and even cure. Parkinson's disease nurse specialist in Iran can be an important and effective step towards improving the quality of care and treatment for these patients.
