Background: Spiritual health, as one of the fundamental pillars of human well-being, has received less attention in many educational systems. The present study aimed to identify the factors influencing the formation and development of spiritual health in students. Methods: This research employed a qualitative approach and a phenomenological method. Participants were 22 students from the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences at Yazd University, selected using purposive criterion sampling. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed using Colaizzi's method. To enhance data credibility, continuous and prolonged engagement in the research process, transferability through providing detailed data descriptions, dependability through meticulous transcription of all interviews, and confirmability through precise recording and reporting of all stages were ensured. Results: Data analysis led to the identification of 3 main themes and 9 sub-themes. The findings revealed that the factors influencing students' spiritual health include: Individual Factors (spiritual identity and self-knowledge, spiritual-divine orientation, critical thinking and conscious search, and emotional and psychological health); Family Factors (spiritual upbringing and family's socioeconomic status); and Sociological and Relational Factors (university ecosystem, media and cultural exchanges, and social structure and interactions). Conclusion: The formation and development of students' spiritual health require simultaneous attention to individual, family, and sociological factors. Therefore, promoting spiritual health necessitates a comprehensive and multi-dimensional approach at the university level and in relevant policy-making.
