Abstract

Background: The present documentary examines the various dimensions of youthism and its implementation strategies.
Methods: A group meeting was held with the presence of young university administrators and their opinions were recorded. In addition, the opinions of several experts in the field of medical sciences and members of the Academy of Medical Sciences were collected via sending and receiving letters. Then all comments were analyzed and summarized.
Results: The definition and some of the requirements of youthism and the obstacles precluding its implementation were stated then seven strategies were proposed.
Conclusion: Youthism guarantees the realization of the transcendent vision of the declaration of the Islamic Revolution. The realization of the strategy requires collective determination and commitment on the part of the government more than any other action and it must be achieved through action plans over time. It seems that the first and most important institution that can implemennt the strategy of youthfulness are the academic and research centers.

Abstract

Background: The aim of this study was to systematically review existing studies to predict the next ten years of common diseases and to propose effective interventions to reduce risk factors, morbidity and premature mortality resulting from these diseases in Iran.
Methods: A systematic review was conducted in order to predict the next ten year of non-communicable diseases and review the proposed measures of the World Health Organization to prevent and control them.
Results: According to the predictions made for the next ten years, cardiovascular diseases, cancers, diabetes and lung diseases will be the leading diseases causing the most lost years of life or years spent with disability. To act against thig growing trend, The World Health Organization has suggested interventions in four areas of governance, reducing exposure to risk factors, strengthening the health care system to respond to these diseases, and finally continuous monitoring of changes in risk factors and chronic diseases, causes of mortality due to these diseases, and also executive, preventive and control measures.
Conclusion: Proposed interventions are based on integration of preventive and control programs in the health care system, so that each and every high-risk individual in the most peripheral health levels are identified and provided with preventive care.

Abstract

Background: Using bicycles in the short urban trips can be an important solution to face many problems caused by the widespread use of cars, but using bicycles in Iran has not been developed. Awareness of the functions of using a bicycle can play an important role. Therefore, this research aims to investigate the relationship between awareness of the functions of the bicycle and its use.
Methods: This quantitative research was carried out by a survey method. The population was people aged 18-65 in Yasouj, of which 400 cases were selected by multi-stage random sampling method. Research tools to measure the use of bicycles; and awareness of the functions of bicycle, were two researcher-made questionnaires. Validity was determined through content and factor validity; and reliability was assessed using re-test and Cronbach's alpha coefficients.
Results: Descriptive findings showed that only 34.8% of respondents use bicycles. In addition, the logistic regression analysis showed a positive and significant relationship between the awareness of the functions of bicycles and using this device in the short urban trips.
Conclusion: This research concludes that improving people's awareness of the functions of using bicycles, can help increase the use of bicycles short urban trips and diminish one of the country's acute problems.
