صورت گیرد، چراکه پژوهش‌های اولیه صورت گرفته در این زمینه نشان می‌دهد از نظر اصطلاح‌شناسی، واژگان مربوط به توصیف، تعریف و بازشناسی بیماری‌ها در متون مختلف پزشکی دوره اسلامی دچار تغییرات معنایی توصیف، تعریف و بازشناسی نام بیماری‌ها در متون پزشکی دوره اسلامی ‌نقش داشته‌اند. زبان متون ( عموماً فارسی یا عربی)، چگونگی ترجمه متن‌های پایه به زبان‌های به کار گرفته شده در ایران و تغییر معنایی واژگان در طول تاریخ از جمله این عوامل هستند. درعین‌حال،هرگونه پژوهش پایه در زمینه بیماری‌شناسی در طب سنتی ایران باهدف تبیین و بازشناسی معنایی این داده‌ها مستلزم در نظر گرفتن این تغییر شاخه‌های گوناگون تقسیم می‌شده است، به نظر می‌رسد یکی از مهم‌ترین این شاخه‌ها از نظر تولید واژگان و اصطلاحات تخصصی شاخه بیماری‌شناسی است که شامل مجموعه به نسبت وسیعی از نام یا توصیف بیماری‌ها است؛ اما براساس مؤلفه‌های چندی، از جمله استفاده از چند زبان مختلف یا به هم‌پیوستگی طولانی تاریخی در طب سنتی ایران و نیز ورود زبان‌های جدید پزشکی به ایران (از دوره قاجار به بعد) دگردیسی‌های معنایی مهمی ‌در معنای نام بیماری‌ها صورت گرفته و واژه‌ای که در طب سنتی ایران به بیماری اطلاق می‌شده، امروزه به بیماری متفاوت دیگری اختصاص یافته است.</span></span> <span style="font-size:8pt"><span
