Ethics guideline in Epidemic of Infectious Diseases in Iran

According to the COVID-19 pandemic and the importance of moral and ethical functioning of the country’s health system in facing similar future outbreaks of infectious diseases, “Medical Ethics” and “Medical Education” groups of the “Academy of Medical Sciences of Islamic Republic of Iran” and “Medical Ethics and History of Medicine Research Center at Tehran University of Medical Scinces” drafted “The Iranian Guideline for Infectious Diseases Outbreaks”. This draft guidline was adopted by “Supreme Council of Medical Ethics at the Ministry of Health and Medical Education” after receiving the opinions if different stakeholders. The document is consisted of ethical requiremnets for infectious diseases outbreaks in four sections including core principles and values, management and administration of the health system, providing health care, and education, research, and technology |
