Development of basic sciences can be assessed in two parts: 1- Structural development 2- Content development. These sciences include mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and its subgroups, and also new fields such as biotechnology and nanotechnology. Unfortunately, in the third world, development of research and education in basic sciences has a small share in domestic and foreign resources, therefore, studies and research in this field have remained very weak. Also, our scientific and cultural members have little influence on effective factors for leadership of the community. Educational and research abilities in the field of basic sciences are required for national improvement, therefore the following items should be pursued:. 1- Designing and compiling long-term programs and supporting research and education of basic sciences. 2- Supporting applied basic science projects. 3- Supporting basic science researchers and encouraging the private sector to invest in this field. |
