Background: Nowadays, the exchange rate in general and its role on the market of medicine and medical equipment, in particular, have been a topic of discussion in scientific forums and the media. The aim of this study was to assess the continuity of the dual exchange rate policy in the field of medicine and medical equipment and the related harm to patients and their families.
Method: This qualitative study gathered the opinions of experts in the field and analyzed data by content analysis using MAXQDA 20 software.
Results: The dual/multiple exchange rate (DER) policy in Iran, will have deleterious effects in the healthcare sector.
Conclusion: We recommend continuation of talks with the various stakeholders to reform the current DER policy. |
